REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME

A LICENSED INDEPENDENT S.O.M. MINISTER

Candidates for ordination as a minister under the umbrella of the Independent Science of Mind Fellowship are required to become familiar with at least one and preferably two or more of the following self-healing techniques they can share with clients seeking to heal themselves:

The Path of the Healing Dragon, also known as Dragon Alchemy, is a source of spiritual healing for emotional trauma and mental blocks we use to sabotage ourselves. We recommend these teachings to you as a healing tool

Spiritual Alchemy is a system for dredging up and resolving buried emotions and memories. Of all the systems available, we find the Alchemy Fellowship to have the most effective approach and recommend it to you as a healing tool.

The "Secrets of the Freemasons" are hidden in plain sight for those who have eyes to see. These secrets are not about world domination or powerful conspiracies, but about how to heal yourself of all wounds on every level of your being. We recommend Esoteric Freemasonry to you as a healing tool.

The Magical Golden Dawn is a system of identifying and working with your guardian angel and spirit guides to heal yourself of all physical, emotional, mental, psychological and intuitive problems of any kind. We recommend the MGD to you as a healing tool.

The Modern Essenes teach several outstanding healing techniques we heartily recommend to you. The Essene Blessing Walk is an excellent example of how helping others helps us. We recommend both techniques to you without reservation. You are already familiar with the Essene Healing Breath if you completed the ISOMF Lessons. If you haven't completed these lessons, please do so now.

If you think you might include spiritual healing as part of your ministry, please qualify as a Licensed Spiritual Healer Practitioner before you seek ordination. You may decide to become a healer, a minister or both a minister and a healer as a result.

While you are learning the healing techniques you want to use for yourself and your clients with emotional and spiritual issues, please study the works of Ernest S. Holmes, the founder of the Religious Science (Science of Mind) movement. Modern science is proving many of the things he taught over half a century ago.

Ernest Holmes wrote several books and we recommend all of them to you. However, we do have some favorites. We suggest you start your own study group by inviting others to study one or more of the following three books, or any books of your choosing, with you:

  1. "The Science of Mind" by Ernest Holmes (ISBN 0-399-15007-2) G.P. Putnam's Sons, New York. This is the classic "bible" of Religious Science and is often cited as being Holmes's best work.

  2. "Living the Science of Mind" by Ernest Holmes (ISBN (0-87516-627-X) DeVorss Publications, Camarillo, California. This book explains the Science of Mind textbook in easy to understand language.

  3. "Love & Law, the Unpublished Teachings" by Ernest Holmes (ISBN 1-58542-077-8) Tarcher/Penguin, New York. These early lectures and private lessons are a mine of helpful information for ministers.

Science of Mind Practitioners have an excellent course preparing them to do ISOMF "Treatments." As a minister in the ISOMF you will be expected to teach this Practitioner Course to aspiring ministers and spiritual healers. You will need to take this course yourself prior to your ordination.

The Universal Gnostic Fellowship has a superb set of lessons called the Gnostic Lessons that we recommend to anybody following a spiritual path. These lessons are a good preparation for the ministry. They are often called the "Minor Orders" and are designed to teach candidates how to become a minister. We recommend them to you.

Candidates for ordination into the ISOMF are required to write a letter of intention and an application for ordination to the Fellowship Secretary and delivered by email to ISOMF.info @ gmail.com (no spaces) or to:

ISOMF-Clergy
PO Box 163
Ridgecrest, NC 29770

Candidates will be assigned a mentor to help them prepare for the ministry. Candidates who have any issues with their mentor are encouraged to call the office to confidentially discuss their situation. That number is 800-710-1539 extension 3.

Candidates with previous ministerial or similar experience usually spend less than three months as a candidate preparing themselves for ordination. Candidates lacking this experience may be asked to learn additional skills before being ordained. These requests are not made lightly but they are always open to further discussion.

When the candidate is prepared, arrangements for ordination will be made.

Ordained ministers within the Independent Science of Mind Fellowship have the option of starting their own church or working directly through our national office. They may title themselves as priests, priestesses, ministers or spiritual facilitators. Those who aspire to mentor other ministers may petition to become a bishop by whatever title they choose to use.

Petitions for consecration as a bishop may be sent in writing to the ISOMF office via email to ISOMF.info @ Gmail.com (no spaces) or by regular mail to the following address:
